Healthy Ride - May 25th 2013
8 riders plus leader (Bruce). Peckham Square start in bright sunshine for a change. Circular "round the parks" route (http://goo.gl/maps/hFFNL). By the time we were up the climb to Lordship Lane, many layers of clothing had been shed. Across Dulwich Park, look in at Velodrome (busy, and new lights in place), then to Brockwell Park. To save time, just skirted the bottom of Brockwell Park, then round to Ruskin Park. Michelle suggested we find the "Handkerchief Tree", which we did (see photo). Only looks like this for 10 days, then all the hankies fall off! Finally down Camberwell Grove, through to Burgess Park and back up the Canal Path to Peckham Square.

Healthy Ride - April 27th 2013
7 riders plus ride leader (Bruce) set out from Peckham Square just after 10am. Headed for Canada Water so people could learn the route for the second Saturday starts. Short diversion to check the Connect 2 bridge - still there. From Canada Water down to the Thames cycle route (NR4) and then west to the Downing Moorings (the garden barges). Headed back via Maltby St Market (crowded, this is really taking off) and Burgess Park. Only a few spots of rain, despite the iffy forecast.

Ride report, April 13th 2013
Five riders plus leader Bruce on a pretty nice morning. Canada Water to Russia Woodland to pick up the Connect 2 route. Followed this to Greenland Dock and Lower Rd. No new signage to help cyclists across Lower Rd. Still a "Buses only" for straight on. Pavement marked as dual use. New Toucan crossing of Bush Rd is nice. Then short stretch of widened pavement is clearly marked dual use. Then left and on to railway path to Surrey Canal Rd, then across to Rotherhithe New Rd following Connect 2 route (which is also LCN 2). At Rotherhithe New Rd there is no Toucan crossing, a screw-up by Southwark and the cause of much annoyance to Sustrans. But you can use the regular pedestrian crossing.
Next we headed up to the new bridge (see photo above). Rode across and back. Then along to Burgess Park Cafe. That was that for Connect 2. Headed back via Bermondsey Spa Park, Abbey St (past closed bridge on pavement on left), Cherry Gardens and Deal Porter Way. Route is on Google Maps, http://goo.gl/maps/JYznp
