Dr Bike
This is an ongoing programme of events where a qualified cycle mechanic will chack your bike and do small repairs for free, for example fix punctures, renew brake cables. Will advise about more difficult repairs. At present Southwark Cyclists are planning two sessions each month during British Summer Time (from 29th March this year (2020)). First Thursday, 5.30-7.30pm, in Peckham Square (near Peckham Pulse and Peckham Library). Third Thursday, 5-7pm on Quietway 1 at Dunton Rd/Lynton Rd junction. Check Southwark Cyclists Events Calendar for updates.
Bike Maintenance Workshop with Tuition
Run by Southwark Cyclists
These workshops are brought to you by some of the same guys who run our summer-time Dr Bike’s. Sessions are at Camberwell Leisure Centre in Artichoke Place SE5 8TS on the first and third Tuesday evening of every month and run all year.
The whole shebang is free and everyone is welcome. Kids are welcome too but must bring an adult. You will need a bike or bits of one if you want advice on assembling the rest. No state of decrepitude beneath consideration. The team like a challenge. They carry small parts but if the wheels are missing you will have to buy those yourself.
Check Southwark Cyclists Events Calendar for dates. At time of posting the next was January 21st 2020, 6.30-8.30pm, details at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/events/free-bike-maintenance-with-hands-on-tuition-14/
