Healthy Rides - Spring-Summer 2018
The regular 2 hour (10-12) rides will continue with first Saturday rides starting from the Dulwich Clock Cafe in Dulwich Park (SE21 7EA), 2nd Saturday start from Deal Porter Square (next to Canada Water Library, opposite Canada Water station, SE16 7AR) and 4th Saturday start from Peckham Square (next to Peckham Library and Peckham Pulse Leisure Centre, SE15 5JR). We will use the 3rd (and 5th when they occur) Saturdays for slightly longer rides - Healthy Rides +. These "+" rides will be 9.30 - 1.00 and may use different start/finish locations.

Aug11th, 10-12. The Oldest House in the City. Easy ride in search of the oldest house. Harry leading.
Peckham Square (Peckham Library, Peckham Pulse, SE15 5JR)
July 28th, London Freecycle. No Healthy Ride. Leading feeder ride from Peckham and Burgess Park. See Southwark Cyclists web site for details
Dulwich Clock Cafe in Dulwich Park SE21 7BQ
August 4th, 10-12. Butterfly Count ride. Are there butterflies in SE London? Yes there are. We find them every year on this award-winning ride. Starting the ride this year from Dulwich we will visit many of the locations from previous years including Ruskin Park, Elim Open Space and Myatts Fields. See report from last year for pictures. Nice gentle 9 mile saunter. This ride takes place during the Big Butterfly Count week (https://www.bigbutterflycount.org/). Route at https://goo.gl/7R412k or gpx file on right.

July 21st, By Air and Under Sea - Healthy Ride from Greenwich to the Olympic Park, via the Emirates Airline
Start/finish at Cutty Sark, next to the foot tunnel (SE10 9HT).
Thames pathway to the O2 where we board the Emirates Air Line. Great opportunity to take photos. Remember to bring Oyster or Contactless (£3.50 fare).
On disembarking we head up towards the Olympic Park, crossing a couple of parks and taking the Greenway. Coffee stop at one of the cafes in the park. Quick tour of park going past the Velodrome, Copper Box and up round the stadium exiting by the View Tube. Return route takes us along the River Lee down to Three Mills, over Twelvetrees Crescent Bridge and along the south Lee path to Cody Dock. We then cut down to Dock Road and pick up the Thames pathway back to the Greenwich foot tunnel. Flat ride, lots of traffic-free, everyone welcome.

August 18th. Peckham Square, 9.30.
PICNIC ride to Thames Barrier. Idea is to meet up with Bexley Healthy Riders at the Barrier, have a ride through the new section of Thames Path ("the missing link"). then for those not in a hurry, have a picnic lunch before cruising home. So likely to be back a bit later than 1pm....
People will also be able to join the ride at Canada Water (10am) and Cutty Sark (10.30).
