Healthy Ride, Dec 8th 2012
10 riders, including one new rider. David led us along the river path to the Cutty Sark and back on a beautiful sunny morning. Collected Francis at Greenwich, so 11 riders on the return leg. Several continued after the ride to Surrey Docks Farm for the Christmas Fair. This was the last ride before Christmas. Next ride will be in the new year - 2013 - Jan 12th, 10am, Canada Water.

Healthy Ride, Nov 24th 2012
5 of us on a damp November morning, including one new rider. Set off from Peckham Sq down the Canal Path and across Burgess Park. Then by mostly quiet streets (plus Myatts Field Park - a really charming small park) to the Brixton Windmill. Back by a slightly more southerly route via Loughborough Junction (what a disastrous piece of traffic engineering!), Ruskin Park and Folkstone Gardens. Route at Google Maps

Healthy Ride, Nov 10th
A cold wet morning. Just 4 riders including leader Werner. Start/finish Canada water. Loop planned: Greenwich, Deptford Market, Surrey Canal Road, Maltby St, Back along river.
Comment from Michael: "There were only the 3-4 of us but we all did so enjoy the ride even taking into account the weather, and we finished off the ride and had a cuppa and a chat in the (Brunel Tunnel) Museum in Rotherhithe Street."
In fact the rain stopped almost as soon as the ride started. Photos from Michael.
Report from Werner, posted on Google:
Some rain earlier and pessimistic forecasts may have discouraged a few, only four starters came to Canada Water. The threatened rain didn't show up so plan B (introduce new riders to the joys of the waterproof and warm Rotherhithe Tunnel) wasn't required.
We followed the river to Deptford, briefly looked at the market in Deptford High Street and then checked Douglas Way market for more offers. Douglas Way going West and the useful railway underpass, Fordham Park, Woodpecker Road, Folkestone Gardens, Surrey Canal Road and routes 2 and 22 provided an almost traffic-free route to the third market of the day in Maltby and Druid Streets. Unfortunately the queues were a bit too long so we had a well-deserved coffee in the pleasant cafe of the Brunel Museum instead and therefore missed the scheduled arrival time slightly.
Total distance 14.5km and quite a bit of that new to all of us.
